Price List Items for Products and Services

Posted Mon, 14/06/2010 - 09:12 by Jon@AccountsPortal

We have released a new version that allows users to create Price List Items for their products and services. This allows you to easily add line items to your Invoices and Credit Notes for products/services that you regularly invoice, so that you dont have to manually enter all the details for each line item.

We will be adding more features to this section, such as the ability to track the historic sales of each Price List Item. If you have any requests, then please let us know!

Job Numbers

Dear Sirs

I am looking for an account package which will allow be to enter job numbers so that sales and expenses/purchases can go against that number. It would also help if I could generate a report every month to show profit/loss of each job. Also have one number for overheads as well.

I already use an o-line accounts package who are very unflexible - would be willing to swap if the above can be done, Would also be willing to pay more per month for this package.

Kind regards

Trial of software

Hi
I am currently having a go on the free trial to see if I want to migrate from my current package. My current package is very good, but does not account for exempt vat sales, hence why I am looking to move. One good thing I did find really useful was the way in which Sales Invoices could be allocated to the marketing method that the sales came from - repeat business, Google Search, Yellow Pages etc. This identified that actually I only earnt £158 from adverts in Yellow pages costs almost £1000 - I would like to see this added as for small businesses, this is very important information. Helping to identify repeat business amounts tells you that you are doing a good job

But, so far, so good. Well done

Re: Price List Items for Products and Services

Thanks for the feedback Andrea.

One relatively easy way to track various sales categories is to create a new account for each sales category. So, you could, for example, have:

-Sales (Google)

-Sales (Yellow Pages)

-Sales (Yahoo)

-Sales (Other)

Then, each time you create an invoice, you specificy the relevant sales category on the line item. By doing this, you will be able to see at any point in time the value of sales in each category in the profit and loss statement. For more information on creating new accounts, please see http://www.accountsportal.com/docs/help/add-or-edit-account

100% agree with you though - being able to track income and cost categories across any transaction type is important. We will get started on it as soon as possible.
