AccountsPortal Approved by HMRC for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax for Sole Traders and Landlords

AccountsPortal is pleased to announce that it has been officially recognised by HMRC as an approved software provider for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is the next phase of HMRC's wider Making Tax Digital initiative, which aims to digitise the UK's tax reporting system. Under the initiative, self-employed individuals and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 are required to keep digital records and submit quarterly updates to HMRC.

This recognition means that AccountsPortal users will be able to manage both their VAT and income tax obligations through a single platform, with direct digital filing to HMRC.

Jonathan Behr, CEO of AccountsPortal, said, "AccountsPortal has been MTD-compatible for VAT since 2019, and we're now recognised for the expanded Income Tax requirements too. If you're a sole trader or landlord who will be affected by the new rules, get in touch and we'll help you get set up"

With Making Tax Digital for Income Tax now in effect, there's never been a better time to make sure you have the appropriate software in place. AccountsPortal allows you to maintain compliant digital records, submit quarterly updates, and file your end-of-year declaration, all from one place.
