Both quarterly reports and the annual report have an "Export" button that downloads the figures as a CSV file. This is handy for keeping your own records or sharing the numbers with your accountant. Exporting does not send anything to HMRC.
For security, HMRC requires you to reconnect periodically. If your connection has expired, AccountsPortal will prompt you to reauthenticate — you can also do this at any time from the Making Tax Digital page using the "reauthenticate your MTD account" link. You'll be sent to HMRC to sign in again, then returned to AccountsPortal. Your business setup and account mappings are kept.
The MTD for Income Tax page includes a "View your Income Tax estimate" note with a "View on HMRC" link. Your tax estimate is held by HMRC, so this takes you to your HMRC online account. Please note the estimate may not reflect your final tax position.
To remove the integration completely:
1. First follow the instructions on the HMRC website to remove AccountsPortal's authority to interact with your account.
2. Then, on the Making Tax Digital page under "Deregister", click the link to delete the integration and confirm. This removes your HMRC connection and clears your Income Tax setup from AccountsPortal.
